Paintless Dent Removal (PDR)

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) has matured to offer a legitimate alternative repair option in many instances. In the PDR mode, dents can sometimes be completely eliminated using special tools that allow us to work the metal from the (unpainted) underside. This process virtually eliminates expensive paint materials and paint labor charges. Retaining the vehicle’s factory finish is desirable as well as cost efficient. Magnum does world class PDR when that approach is appropriate. If the paint on the vehicle has been damaged, PDR is not an option. Door dings, some hail damage, indentions caused by hands on trunk & hoods, etc., are PDR possibilities dependent on damage location and severity. We often use PDR and conventional repairs on the same vehicle. It helps speed the repair along, reduces costs and minimizes the displacement of factory paint. Magnum’s PDR work is backed by the Magnum’s World Class warranty. Ask your manager if PDR is an option for your car.

Having the best people is only part of Magnum’s formula for being the best at what we do. Another integral component is utilizing cutting edge technology while continuing to make the most of tried and true staples.

 Frame/Unibody Repair: There are two, basic underpinning technologies today. They are "Full frame” and "Unibody”. Full frame technology is based on the premise that "resists” damage using heavy steel and alloys deployed in an exaggerated "H” pattern, going from the front bumper to the rear bumper. This technology also lends itself for greater weight deployment, which is one reason why it is most commonly found in trucks, SUV’s, and larger cars. Unibody technology is built on the "bend/don’t break” philosophy. In it, the vehicle’s floor assembly and light-weight extensions called "rails” replace the frame assembly. The term "Crumple zones” came out of this technology. Unibody's absorb and compartmentalize (via crumple zones) damage to the vehicle’s foundation, versus "resisting” damage. Unibody vehicles are generally lighter in weight, more fuel efficient and, in general, more likely to recover from an accident than seriously damaged full-frame vehicles.

 Full framed or unibody, correcting the damage to the vehicle’s foundation begins with accurately measuring the location and severity of the damage. Magnum utilizes cutting edge, computer based systems that provide our trained technicians information that allows them to quickly and accurately identify the damage. It also makes a permanent record of the damage as well as the exact measurements after the repairs have been made. We can provide you with precise before and after specs of
your vehicle’s foundation.

 Magnum uses only manufacturer approved frame and unibody straightening equipment. Our technicians are trained and certified by the manufacturers of the frame straightening systems. They are kept up to date on innovations thru on-going training classes. Regardless of the vehicle, regardless of the damage, we have the expertise and the systems needed to restore the foundation to exact factory specifications... guaranteed.

Welding

Structural repairs often call for welded-on parts replacement. With today’s level of sophisticated cars, that means technicians who are trained to replicate exacting factory standards. It also means you have to have the expertise and the equipment to weld steel, aluminum and even plastic. Magnum has the trained personnel and virtually dozens of pieces of equipment that suit every conceivable application. Mistakes we have seen committed by unqualified shops have resulted in damage to on-board computer systems. Magnum takes every precaution to protect those systems when the job calls for welding.

 

Refinishing and Premier Paint Facility

Magnum built its world class paint facility in 2002. We recognized the importance of separating the paint environment from the contaminants that are indigenous to body repair. Magnum also committed the resources needed to acquire the best paint booths and related equipment in the world. Our computerized formulation system can make a perfect match of virtually any color ever made. Magnum uses factory approved material exclusively. And, of course, nothing matters as much as our people. Magnum refinish personnel are highly skilled professionals, trained and assisted by factory representatives. They are continually training on the latest technological advances as well as product advancements.
